Bioinformatic Analysis

Project: bacterial transcriptome from the salivary microbiome — Cooperative University of Colombia

Project summary

Title: Analysis of the bacterial transcriptome from the salivary microbiome in patients with and without oral squamous cell carcinoma.
Funding: Cooperative University of Colombia — Medium Quantitative Call 2022-2.
Researcher(s): see attached document (PROYECTO_MEDIANA_CUANTIA_2022-2_ALVEIRO_ERIRA.pdf).

Objective

Characterize bacterial gene expression in the salivary microbiota of patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma versus healthy controls to identify transcriptomic signatures associated with the disease and support diagnostic biomarkers.

Methodology (brief)

Total RNA sequencing from saliva samples, filtering and mapping to bacterial references, expression quantification, differential analysis, and functional enrichment. Expected files are sequences in FASTQ/FASTA formats, possibly compressed.
